A Datatrend Bowlathon record $20,300 was raised for the Pay It Forward Fund to support women fighting breast cancer!

Continuing a decade-long tradition in October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Datatrend Technologies held the 10th Annual Bowlathon, a fundraiser for Minnesota-based charity the Pay It Forward Fund. The Pay It Forward Fund is a non-profit organization that helps patients pay their bills while undergoing treatment for breast and women’s cancers. They pay essential living expenses so patients can focus on what’s really important – getting well.

This year marked ten years of Datatrend’s commitment to helping women in the fight against cancer, having now raised over $110,000 for the Pay It Forward Fund.

Datatrend would like to thank and acknowledge the following people and organizations for their generous donations; without them, this fundraising event would not have been possible:

What’s the best way to kick off the summer? With a company beanbag tournament and potluck! Datatrend employees spent the day in the sunshine, enjoying great food and friendly competition. After many rounds of play, Paige and Connor were our winners. With more warm days ahead, another round of play is in the works, and we’re looking forward to making the most of these summer months while they last!

Datatrend volunteers spent the morning at the Chanhassen-located Feed My Starving Children (FMSC), a non-profit that provides nutritionally complete meals specifically formulated for malnourished children. With the help of donors and volunteers, FMSC has donated 2,149,347,616 meals to date. In just one morning of service, Datatrend was able to help with these donations by packing 83 boxes containing 17,929 meals. This will feed 49 kids for an entire year! We are so thankful to have the opportunity to serve others and partner with organizations in our own city and continue our pledge of Making IT Matter.

In our ongoing effort of Making IT Matter, Datatrend Technologies decided to support an organization very close to our employees’ hearts and volunteer at the University of Minnesota Masonic Children’s Hospital’s annual Turtle Derby and Carnival. For the last 32 years, this fundraiser and tradition for patients and families has been a bright spot for those spending time in the hospital. The derby includes a dunk tank and carnival games, along with the iconic turtle race itself. Datatrend was lucky enough to volunteer in helping run some of the day’s events and spend the day with such amazing kids. The money raised from the derby helps to provide many tools for the hospital and children/families there, including hearing aid support supplies, end-of-life memory-making activities, books, anxiety-reducing toys for pediatric clinics, musical instruments, artwork for patient rooms, and a variety of other items.

At Datatrend, we want our team members, the communities we serve, our customers and partners to recognize that giving back is an inherent part of our company culture. Not even rain could stop us from spending time with the Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity. The Datatrend team spent a few days with our local Habitat for Humanity chapter helping to build a home for a family in need. Habitat for Humanity’s mission is based on the premise that everyone, everywhere, should have a healthy, affordable place to call home. More than building homes, through volunteering we have the opportunity to build communities, hope and the opportunity for families to help themselves. With an affordable, stable home, families have more to spend on food, medicine, child care, education and other essentials.

An award-winning nonprofit housing developer, Twin Cities Habitat is committed to building the quality of life, health and economic prosperity of the region by producing, preserving and advocating for affordable homeownership – because homes and families are the foundation of successful communities. More than 1,100 families have purchased a Twin Cities Habitat home since 1985. Since 1998, more than 1,800 homeowners have received home repairs through their A Brush with Kindness Program.

Datatrend’s plan is to focus on the core communities where we work and do business. We want to Make IT Matter. Our initial focus is on Minneapolis, followed by Atlanta, Raleigh and Washington, DC.  Datatrend makes a substantial financial donation to each of these regional Habitat for Humanity organizations. In addition to a financial donation, all of our team members participate in a day of working on site at a Habitat for Humanity project.  This involves construction work, painting, landscaping and a variety of other home building/improvement activities. We consider ourselves so lucky to be able to give back directly to the community in which we live.

$17,638 was raised for the Pay It Forward Fund to support women fighting breast cancer!

We rang in our 30th anniversary with a local food truck, a ribbon cutting ceremony dedicating the new wing of our office building to our owner’s father, cupcakes, an employee party, and personalized gifts for our owners, Mark and Bryan. The sun was shining, the weather was perfect, and our spirits were high as we celebrated this amazing accomplishment.

If you were to ask our humble owners their thoughts on owning an accomplished and growing businessfor 30 years, they’d say the success is 100% contributed to hard work, the best employees, trusting clients, and strategic partnerships.

Many thanks to the community and our constituents for your dedication to our mission; we look forward to continually evolving with you over the next 30 years.
